Haddahunch!

I know it’s kind of silly, but I just had to use the haddahunch.com URL somehow. I reserved it years ago when I first came up with the idea for a multi-disciplinary posture clinic, and although it’s a bit quirky as a primary web address, it fits just right for our posture screening page.  I knew the posture clinic was a good idea (yes, I “had a hunch”…). At the time I had more than a dozen years experience working with private training clients of all shapes and sizes, and had begun to realize that everyone needed help with their alignment. If their posture wasn’t making them look terrible, it was contributing to their pain, or causing injury, or preventing them from doing the things that they enjoyed.

The other reason I’m drawn to specialize in posture management is the fact that the people who need help come from every single walk of life. In children, better posture prevents bullying and developmental issues. In seniors it offers quality of life. In athletes it facilitates superior performance. In 20-somethings it improves image and presence. In executives it portrays confidence and poise. I could go on forever from an extensive list of living case studies for the benefits of better posture, but you get the picture.

So back to haddahunch. I’m proud to say that there are a lot of people around who no longer have poor posture due to what they learned from my workshops, seminars, lectures and one-to-one corrective therapy. The response to my approach has been amazing and the results are inspiring. In fact, the groundswell of interest and acceptance of all aspects of my practice is what led me to finally take the leap and launch Performance Posture. The clinic holds a stellar team of posture and alignment-related practitioners that are ready to talk with each other about the unique needs of their patients. A simple concept, but difficult to execute when a patient has individual professionals scattered miles apart.

I know there are many people craving solid information and guidance about their posture or their alignment-related injuries. I hope to be able to provide solutions and answers through this blog, and learn even more about what will help them look, feel and play…better.

I’ll get back to you shortly with a hot posture topic, but for now feel free to let me know what’s on your minds.
