Dr Joanna MacDonald :
Chiropractor, A.R.T.® Therapy
Dr. Joanna MacDonald began her career in health care at the UBC, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics. Competing as a Varsity athlete and working as an alpine ski coach furthered her interest in human body performance, injury prevention and rehabilitation. Her experiences as an athlete and patient, a strong belief in preventative health and a desire to help others is what inspired her to pursue a career in chiropractic.
Joanna graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where she was selected for a clinical internship at the St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto. She furthered her chiropractic education by becoming a fully certified Active Release Techniques ® (A.R.T.®) Practitioner. A.R.T® is a soft-tissue, movement based treatment system designed to remove small areas of scar tissue or “adhesions” that develop in muscles, tendons, ligament or fascia as a result of injury and/or overuse. She is also trained in Kinesio Taping®.
